We made these coasters in our Paso Robles shop from a sycamore we rescued here in San Luis Obispo County. It was a city tree that had to come out because of decay, and now each coaster carries our mark.

The Deadwood Revival Design emblem is laser-engraved into every coaster: a bare old tree with its roots spread wide, our DR monogram across the trunk, “Slo Ca” on either side for the county we call home, and our name along the bottom.

That’s the idea behind our name. We rescue California trees that came down or had to come out, mill and dry the wood at our own yard, and give it a second life as something you’ll actually use. Where design and nature intersect.

A straight stripe of orange epoxy is inlaid near the right edge and runs the full height of each coaster. Sycamore has a dense ray fleck, and the tone shifts a little from one coaster to the next, so your four won’t match exactly. Finished with Natura Onecoat hard wax oil, bare wood on the bottom.
